This session is tailored for secondary educators seeking to integrate eMediaVA’s comprehensive library of digital resources into their teaching. Participants will learn how to navigate the platform to find lessons, videos, and activities that enrich instruction across all content areas, including science, English, history, and math. The session will highlight strategies for incorporating multimedia into lessons, engaging students in critical thinking, and aligning resources to standards. Teachers will have time to explore the platform and identify resources that meet their classroom needs.
With classrooms full of digital natives we tend to take for granted the skills and knowledge that our students may not possess. This class will cover the following topics: Basic Computer Skills, Digital Communication, Cybersecurity, Media Literacy, Digital Citizenship, Research/Data Analysis, Problem-Solving and Creativity. You will leave with some practical ideas and activities that you can integrate into your classroom in order to build a strong foundation for your students.
We will share with you how to make some boring and sometimes difficult tasks easier and simpler. We will discuss programs such as OneNote, how to use Canvas Quizzes more effectively, and how we can still use paper material effectively without driving ourselves crazy.
